Job summary

Veolia seeks an Operator I to support the safe, reliable operation of a reciprocating engine-based power generation facility in Johnstown, Ohio. You will monitor equipment, follow OEM and plant procedures, and assist in startup, shutdown, and planned outages while maintaining strict safety and environmental standards.

Working with the Shift Supervisor, I&E Technicians, and maintenance crews, you will log operating data, respond to alarms, and participate in continuous improvement to improve

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical training or coursework in power generation or mechanical systems preferred.
• Experience in industrial operations preferred but not required.
• Ability to read operating procedures and manuals.
• Basic computer skills to use plant monitoring and reporting systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely start, stop, operate, and monitor engine-generator packages and all associated auxiliary equipment per OEM specs and plant procedures.
• Monitor equipment via control system and field inspections to ensure safe operation.
• Adjust operating parameters within approved guidelines to optimize performance and reliability.
• Conduct routine inspections and document conditions, status, and abnormalities.
• Report malfunctions to the Shift Supervisor and assist in startups, shutdowns, and outages.
