Job summary

Xcel Energy is hiring entry-level engineers to develop technical expertise across a range of electrical engineering disciplines. The role supports operations, maintenance, testing, and regulatory activities while gaining hands-on experience under supervision.

The position offers a hybrid work model (onsite 3 days per week) and a salary progression from entry to more senior levels as skills grow. The successful candidate will start at an entry level commensurate with their background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET accredited curriculum; electrical engineering degree preferred.
• 0+ years relevant engineering experience.
• EIT/FE (Engineer in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses and applies technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to perform activities of limited scope.
• Supports the development of technical documentation and procedures.
• Provides ongoing technical support for project activities in Operations, Maintenance, Testing/Diagnostics, Regulatory, etc.
• Coordinates projects or portions of projects under the direction of a higher level engineer or supervisor.
• Assists with bid/evaluation processes by performing basic analysis and communicating with other business areas.
• Exchanges information clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
• May supervise interns or technicians and contribute to skill development.
• Participates in budgeting, forecasting, and work order management in support of engineering projects.
