Job summary

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. is seeking a field technician to join the transmission and distribution team. You will perform construction and maintenance on gas systems, following safety and regulatory requirements under the direction of the Crew Foreman.

The role requires a high school diploma, valid driver’s license and CDL, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds, work outdoors in all weather, and communicate with internal and external customers for explanations and information.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have and maintain Operator Qualifications (OQs) and any other OQ tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and CDL.
• Welding certificate may be required.
• Ability to use data entry software and communicate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction and maintenance on transmission and distribution systems and facilities.
• Adhere to company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Operates heavy and/or specialized equipment as needed.
• Review job site maps and ensure proper utility markings.
• Provide safe barricade and channelization at worksites.
