Job summary

TIC_Craft is seeking an entry-level helper to support skilled craftspersons in piping fabrication, reading drawings, and installation tasks on a construction site in Port Arthur, Texas.

You will work under supervision, learn to operate tools, and help with measuring, alignment, and safety procedures while supporting team goals.

Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and occasional overtime on weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and basic mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Field experience in metal fabrication preferred.
• Knowledge of safe use of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Learn to read isometric drawings and take measurements.
• Assist with aligning, bolting and clamping components for welding.
• Assist with assembling and securing pipes, tubes, fittings per specs.
• Position and secure materials and install items per plans.
• Learn to handle different metal thicknesses.
• Handle rigging equipment safely.
• Operate beveling machines, grinders, hammers, torches, drills, and Saw-Zall.
• Layout and install equipment, vessels, pipes, supports.
• Assist with hydro testing piping systems.
