Job summary

Carolina Family Care, Inc. (CFC) in partnership with MUSC PC Lab seeks an on-site phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and specimen handling for patients of all ages, following universal precautions.

You'll enter patient info and orders, maintain documents, and support quality assurance activities in a high-volume lab. Responsibilities include proper specimen processing, supply maintenance, area decontamination, and participation in ongoing education and meetings.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 0-6 months work experience.
• Certificate of Phlebotomy preferred.
• State licensure and/or professional certification dependent on position.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality venipuncture or capillary service for patients of all ages with lab orders by a physician, while practicing universal precautions.
• Accurate data entry of patient demographic information and assays ordered into all computer applications.
• Proper processing and handling of specimens according to MUSCP/MUSCP-PC guidelines; document actions.
• Maintain medical supplies in accordance with cost effective parameters established by MUSCP/MUSCP-PC.
• Decontamination of assigned areas and documenting the information.
• Attend in services and meetings and participate in committees and continuing education as requested.
