Responsibilities

Greet patients with professionalism and compassion upon arrival, creating a welcoming environment

Assist with patient check-in using self-service kiosks or handheld tablets, guiding them through the process

Perform venipuncture and specimen collection following established procedures to ensure accuracy and safety

Maintain a professional, safe, and clean environment in both lobby and draw room areas

Help with patient needs such as providing information about procedures and addressing concerns

Cover breaks for staff and assist with staffing shortages as needed

Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient interactions and specimens

Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, fostering trust and confidence with patients

Ensure confidentiality of patient information throughout all activities

Support team efforts to maintain operational efficiency and professionalism

Required Skills

Proven experience in phlebotomy, including specimen collection and processing

Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient care

Ability to handle patients with care and compassion

Proficiency with keyboard and data entry

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to follow established protocols and procedures

Effective communication skills to explain procedures and address patient questions

Additional Skills & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required

1-2 years of client-facing customer service experience (retail, home health aide, etc.)

Previous phlebotomy experience, including internships or externships

Reliable transportation to and from the worksite within a 20-25 minute commute

Flexibility to work scheduled shifts, including covering breaks and staffing shortages

Ability to work both in the lobby and draw room environments

Schedule availability that does not conflict with school or other commitments for student candidates

Adherence to punctuality and attendance policies; excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination
