Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a part-time team member in Rochester, NY, to motivate and support donors by ensuring their safety and collecting high-quality plasma for life-changing medicines.

Qualifications

  • Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire shift.
  • Comfort with prolonged glove wear and exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer or patient-facing role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and greet donors to ensure safety.
  • Screen new and repeat donors, recording vital signs.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare donor charts.
  • Identify and initiate changes for operational improvements.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

About the Role

Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you. The high‑quality plasma you collect will become life‑changing medicines. This position is a part‑time role with most shifts lasting 4 to 6 hours per day and 3 or more days per week, designed to fit your life.

How You Will Contribute
  • Answer phones, greet donors, and ensure the safety of donors and the team.
  • Screen new and repeat donors and take and record donor vital signs and finger‑stick results.
  • Use the Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation.
  • Identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate changes to center processes using company‑approved procedures.
  • Work a variety of shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
What You Bring To Takeda
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift; ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 5 lbs. routinely and occasionally up to 32 lbs. (rarely 50 lbs.).
  • Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
  • Comfort with prolonged glove wear, as 90% of tasks involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1).
  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer or patient‑facing role (preferred).

Wages & Benefits

U.S. Starting Hourly Wage: $18.00 (subject to local minimum wage requirements).

U.S. employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives, medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year, and up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
