Job summary

Parker Aerospace in Fort Worth is seeking an entry level penetrant inspector trainee. You will work under SPD Certified Level 2 or 3 guidance to learn dye penetrant inspection processes and related documentation.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of recent plant experience at Stratoflex with moderate understanding of the overall production process.
• Able to use PMR, TORS and email to access specifications and complete reports.
• Must understand codes, standards and contractual documents controlling the method used.
• Ability to read and understand instructions, drawings and blueprints; work in a team environment.
• Ability to complete 32 hours of Penetrant Classroom Training per NAS-410 to become eligible for Level 2 certification.
• Ability to complete 400 hours of penetrant on-the-job training for Level 2 certification.

Responsibilities

• Immerse, paint or spray parts with fluorescent penetrant and dwell time.
• Water rinse penetrant, dry parts and develop per SPD procedures for inspector review.
• Gain experience under SPD Certified Penetrant Level 2 or 3 and learn codes and contracts.
• Perform process checks under supervision of a Certified Penetrant Level 2 or 3 Inspector.
• Follow SPD safety guidelines, including MSDS usage.
• Support department as assigned by Supervisor or Lead.
• Perform preventive maintenance on penetrant equipment as needed.
