Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care and assist with non-direct patient care unit coordination on the inpatient unit. You will support the RN in caring for patients, maintain medical asepsis, and document care in the EMR with accuracy.

In addition to clinical duties, you will participate in admissions, discharges and transfers while upholding time management and communication standards in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 weeks of training required.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care activities such as vital signs, ADLs, specimen collection and I/O.
• Assist RN with care of acutely ill patients and maintain medical asepsis.
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Support admissions, discharges and transfers on the inpatient unit.
• Participate in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives.
