Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pennsylvania seeks a Nurse Aide to deliver direct patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with daily living activities, document care, and support admissions, discharges and transfers on the inpatient unit.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, ability to read and follow instructions, basic math and computer skills, and enrollment in ASN/BSN programs may be preferred. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program.
• Preference given to those enrolled in Associates or Bachelor’s degree Nursing programs and completed at least one clinical rotation.
• Preferred Acute care experience within last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities such as: activities of daily living, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, intake/output, meals, height/weight, glucose testing, and more.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives and promotes safety and hygiene on the unit.
• Accurately documents vital signs, I&O, weights, and treatments, and reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

ASN or BSN program enrollment

Completed at least one clinical rotation in nursing programs
