Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Healthcare Billing Specialist to manage electronic claims submission, follow up and account collections at the Methodist Corporate Office in Omaha, NE.

You will handle UB04 and CMS1500 claims, review EOBs, audit accounts, and document activities in the Source System, while maintaining professional communication with patients and providers. A high school diploma or AHIMA coursework is preferred, with 1+ year of billing experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• AHIMA coursework preferred.
• Minimum of one year in healthcare third party billing/claims processing preferred.
• Prior exposure to UP04 and/or CMS1500 claim data preferred.
• Ability to interpret UB04 and CMS1500 data to troubleshoot claim edits.

Responsibilities

• Billing, electronic claims submission and follow up for patient accounts.
• Submit adjusted UB04/837I and CMS1500/837P claims according to guidelines.
• Audit accounts and determine remaining balances and prorations as needed.
• Document referrals and inquiries in the Source System and follow up with patients as necessary.
• Maintain daily workflow and manage queues per department guidelines.
