Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Procurement Transplant Coordinator I to learn and perform steps in LOH organ and tissue procurement. The role supports referral response, donor management, evaluation, allocation, recovery, and perfusion under on-the-job guidance.

Candidates with RN/LPN/PA backgrounds or CPTC-ready credentials are encouraged to apply, with limited travel and potential CPTC certification within 24 months.

Qualifications

• Must possess qualifications for one of the following: CRT or RRT, LPN, RN, or PA.
• Public speaking and good interpersonal skills required.
• Limited travel will be necessary.
• Current licensure/certification as required by professional organizations in area that employee is degreed (CRT, RRT, LPN, RN, PA) or work experience as a procurement transplant coordinator in another organ procurement organization can substitute for licensure requirement.
• If hired, employee must obtain CPTC certification within 24 months of hire.
• Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate all portions of the organ donation process: referral response, evaluation for suitability, obtaining authorization, donor management, organ evaluation and allocation, recovery, and kidney perfusion.
