Job summary

UA Health Services Foundation is seeking a Donation Support Coordinator to manage organ allocation, recovery, packaging and transport with strong clinical judgment. The role involves communication with transplant surgeons, coordination of travel for recovery and adherence to SOPs and regulatory requirements.

The position requires a nursing-related certificate or degree and applicable licensure, with preference for CPT/ CPTC and prior organ procurement experience.

Qualifications

• Vocational certificate or degree in Nursing, EMT, Paramedic, Respiratory Therapy, Surgical Technologist or biological sciences degree required.
• Should be licensed or certified within their field of practice as applicable.
• Previous surgical or medical experience in organ or tissue donation industry may substitute for education requirement.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, CPTC, or CPT certification, prior experience at an organ procurement organization.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate organ allocation, recovery, packaging and transport during donation processes.
• Communicate organ import offers to the local transplant surgeon using established pathways.
• Complete documentation accurately and promptly in compliance with SOPs and regulations.
• Assist with intra-operative sterile packaging and perfusion tasks as assigned.
• Support 10-13 days of 24-hour call shifts per month.
