Job summary

Camin Cargo Control is seeking an entry-level Laboratory Technician I in Lake Charles, LA/Sulphur, LA. The role involves performing routine tests on crude oil, refined products, and petrochemicals, recording results, and ensuring proper sample labeling for traceability and compliance.

This position requires an Associate’s degree in a relevant field and 0–2 years of lab experience, with strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related science preferred.
• 0–2 years of laboratory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and practices.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to learn new software systems and applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory tests and analyses on crude oil, refined petroleum, petrochemical products, and quality control samples.
• Record test results, input data, and analyze findings for review by senior staff.
• Ensure samples are labeled and documented for traceability and regulatory compliance.
• Enter test results and data into internal software systems for tracking and reporting.
• Follow safety protocols and operate laboratory equipment.
• Assist in maintaining and organizing laboratory inventory.
• Support senior technicians and lab supervisors in specialized testing.
• Contribute to maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory.
• Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities.
