Job summary

Camin Cargo Control's Pasadena, TX laboratory is seeking a Laboratory Technician II to conduct intermediate to advanced testing on crude oil, refined products, and petrochemical samples.

The role requires a degree in chemistry or related field, 3+ years in oil and gas labs, and proficiency with ASTM/API/ISO standards, plus strong data reporting and teamwork.

You will maintain instruments, ensure safety, and support audits in a fast-paced, detail‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience or a related role within the oil and gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of petroleum products, chemical analysis, and laboratory testing procedures.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing standards such as ASTM, API, and ISO.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate to advanced laboratory tests and analyses on crude oil, refined petroleum, petrochemical products, and quality control samples.
• Review and interpret data, prepare detailed reports, and communicate results to cross-functional teams.
• Analyze and interpret test results to ensure they meet company and regulatory standards.
• Prepare samples and reagents for testing and ensure they are properly labeled, stored, and tracked.
• Enter test data into the company’s internal software system and ensure all information is accurately recorded and updated.
• Assist in the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and protocols, particularly when handling hazardous chemicals and materials.
• Assist in preparing for internal or external audits and inspections.
• Perform routine cleaning and upkeep of laboratory areas, ensuring a safe, clean, and organized environment.
• Be available during non-working hours, weekends, and holidays as dictated by the Laboratory Manager and/or Operations Department.
