Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat seeks a motivated engineer to support obsolescence management for VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA Class submarines. You will monitor BOMs, solicit vendor data, and draft technical papers while coordinating with Engineering, Program Office, and Naval commands.

The role focuses on mitigating obsolescence while controlling cost and schedule, with opportunities to contribute to lifecycle sustainment and enterprise risk reduction across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 1-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance through the DoD

Responsibilities

• Monitor engineering Bills of Material (BOMs) for assigned submarine systems
• Solicit vendor information and support resolution actions
• Prepare engineering white-papers and customer-facing presentations
• Collaborate with Engineering, Program Office, Purchasing, Materials, Contracts, and Naval commands; generate metrics and reports
