Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a motivated professional to support obsolescence management for VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA Class submarines. You will monitor BOMs, solicit vendor information, and help resolve obsolescence issues with engineering teams and customers.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, critical thinking, and clear communication to mitigate risks in submarine programs and lifecycle sustainment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of Naval or Shipyard experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense secret clearance.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, equipment drawings, and Bills of Material.
• Experience in ship construction, electronics, systems, design.
• Experience in TeamCenter/EB Drawing processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage obsolescence on specific submarine systems assigned to them.
• Pro-actively monitor engineering Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Solicit vendor information.
• Support resolution actions including the technical writing of engineering whitepapers and presentations for customer review.
