Job summary

University of Kansas Medical Center seeks a Multi-craft Maintenance Technician I to support the Facilities Management department. Under supervision, you will perform basic preventive maintenance and assist higher-level technicians across multiple trades, building essential multi-craft skills and career progression.

The role emphasizes logging activities in CMMS, following OSHA safety protocols, and collaborating with other staff to minimize disruption to patient care and operations.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Experience with one of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, or piping systems.
• Two years of experience in facilities maintenance, building trades, or a closely related field; or completion of a vocational/technical training program.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on building systems, equipment, and utility infrastructure.
• Assist journey-level and senior technicians with corrective maintenance and repairs to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, or piping systems.
• Replace filters, belts, light fixtures, fuses, and other consumables or low-complexity components.
• Perform routine inspections and document observations; report deficiencies to supervisor.
• Log work activities and time in the CMMS daily and ensure work orders are closed timely.
