Job summary

Modjeski & Masters in Mechanicsburg, PA is seeking an Entry-Level Civil/Structural Engineer to support movable bridge design projects. A BS in Civil/Structural Engineering (ABET) is required; MS is preferred. Transcripts may be requested and EI certification pursued.

You will use standard engineering analysis software, develop CAD details, and work under senior engineers. The firm offers a hybrid work environment, competitive salary, benefits, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• At minimum a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university; MS preferred.
• Transcripts may be requested.
• A valid EI certification, or in process of obtaining.
• Coursework in Bridge Design, Structural Steel Design, Reinforced Concrete Design, Finite Element Modeling.
• Basic knowledge of computer assisted drafting and design.

Responsibilities

• Use standard engineering analysis software.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with project managers, supervisor, and team members.
• Receive and convey ideas orally and in writing with team members.
• Review and check standard structural design calculations.
• Perform limited structural analysis and design of standard bridge components under guidance from senior engineers.
• Perform limited on-site structural assessments and inspections.
• Develop preliminary details using CAD software and coordinate with CAD technicians.
• Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
• Perform quantity take-offs from contract plans.
• Review and check basic structural drawings and shop drawings.
• Provide information for design reports.
• Perform additional duties including field and construction services assignments.

What We’re Looking For
