Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• Meet CLIA requirements 42 CFR.493.1489
• Perform routine molecular/microbiology testing under established laboratory procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine molecular diagnostic assays including PCR, RT-PCR, multiplex PCR, and other FDA-approved or laboratory developed tests.
• Conducts routine and specialized microbiological procedures including bacteriology/yeast isolation and identification, Gram stain and susceptibilities.
• Responsible for preventive maintenance and function checks of equipment and corrective actions when necessary.
• Ensures specimen stability, proper sample processing and corrective action for errors or recollections.
• Performs quality control procedures and troubleshoots according to laboratory protocols.
