Job summary

Arbor Diagnostics in Dallas, TX is seeking a Molecular/Microbiology Technologist II to perform high-complexity molecular and microbiology testing and act as a technical resource within the department.

You will validate new assays and instrumentation, mentor staff, and support quality improvement initiatives to ensure accurate, timely patient testing in conformance with state and federal guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• 2-5+ years of successful high-complexity laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-complexity molecular and microbiology testing independently.
• Interpret complex molecular assays (PCR, RT-PCR, multiplex PCR, sequencing) and microbiology procedures including ID and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
• Review results and release into LIS; identify interference, contamination, or inhibition and take corrective action.
• Maintain equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure specimen stability and proper processing.
• Train staff, participate in readiness inspections, and assist with validation studies and workflow optimization.
