Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan's Technology Center in the United States seeks a laboratory analyst to perform routine chemical and metallurgical analyses at the assigned site, collect samples, prepare them for tests and maintain instruments.

Requirements include math/chemistry knowledge, strong communication skills and safety awareness; a high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role offers a robust benefits package and potential for career progression in a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of math, chemistry and/or computer skills; ability to communicate effectively; safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine chemical and/or metallurgical analytical tasks at assigned site.
• May collect samples which could include collection from rail cars or trucks in some locations
• Prepare samples for analysis using established tests and techniques.
• Assists with/performs routine chemical and/or metallurgical analysis and reporting.
• Maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Perform other duties as required
