Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan’s Leadville-area site seeks a laboratory analyst to perform routine and non-routine chemical and metallurgical analyses. You may collect samples, prepare them for testing, and assist with reporting while maintaining equipment in a 24/7 operation.

Candidates should have strong math/chemistry knowledge, good communication skills, and an awareness of safety hazards. An Associate degree is preferred for this on-site role with housing allowances for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of math, chemistry and/or computer skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine chemical and/or metallurgical analytical tasks at assigned site.
• May collect samples including from rail cars or trucks in some locations.
• Prepare samples for analysis using established tests and techniques.
• Assists with/performs routine chemical and/or metallurgical analysis and reporting.
• Maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Perform other duties as required
