Job summary

WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to perform basic nursing support under physician and nursing supervision. The role includes greeting patients, preparing exam rooms, assisting with exams, scheduling, and educating patients on follow-up expectations.

Responsibilities also cover maintaining equipment, assisting with office tasks, and supporting with medical documentation. This is a full-time, non-exempt position in Wheeling, WV with potential travel between facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program OR one year of experience in a clinical setting.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patient to exam rooms; obtains initial information and vital signs.
• Prepares exam rooms for patients with cleanliness and supplies readiness.
• Assists with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures.
• Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed.
• Assists provider during patient examinations and procedures.
• Educates patients on follow up expectations.
