Job summary

WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant or similar nursing support role to work under supervision of physicians and licensed staff.

Responsibilities include patient intake, vital signs, exam room prep, and assisting with exams and procedures. The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of a Medical Assistant program or one year of clinical experience; BLS certification within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program OR one year of clinical experience.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patient to exam rooms; obtains initial information and vital signs.
• Prepares exam rooms for patients with attention to cleanliness and supplies.
• Assists with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures.
• Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed.
• Assists provider during patient examinations and procedures.
• Educates patients on follow up expectations.
• Maintains quality control testing logs as required.
• Ensures medical equipment is in proper working condition.
• Assists patients with completion of medical documentation.
• Assists with office administrative tasks (phones, messages, data entry, deposits, etc.).
