Sargent & Lundy is seeking an entry-level design engineer in Albuquerque, NM, to join a multi-disciplinary mechanical design team. You will produce calculations, drawings and technical reports supporting structures, systems and components, with opportunities for advancement and exposure to DOE-related projects.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
• Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance
• BSME degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program with interest in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, machine design, or thermal systems
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for analyses, technical plans, fabrication drawings, and models
• Strong report writing skills and numerical problem-solving ability
• Proficiency with MS Office applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical design engineering on a multi-disciplined project team
• Produce engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings and reports
• Apply mechanical engineering to design and qualification of structures, systems, components
• Prepare Procurement and Construction Specifications (Mechanical)
• Attend project meetings and conduct field walk downs
