We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Mechanical Engineers to join our Albuquerque, NM team. The qualified applicant will have an established career in Mechanical Engineering related to projects such as laboratories, hospitals, manufacturing, educational, and commercial facilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform conceptual design through construction administration and post‑occupancy, coordinating with multiple disciplines as a Mechanical Engineer to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule.
- Stay current on codes and technologies appropriate to the mechanical disciplines.
- Ensure conformance with standards, established design practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction.
- Organize and conduct site visits for data collection and evaluation of mechanical systems, equipment, components, and materials for projects with and without well‑defined scopes.
- Develop and design within a BIM design environment.
- Complete assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client specified criteria and applicable codes and standards.
- Review junior team members’ work for quality and to identify training opportunities.
- Lead junior engineers in engineering design development and professional growth.
- Collaborate with the internal and external project team to execute the project from concept to completion.
- For the Government Group: obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Qualifications
- Minimum four‑year college degree from an accredited engineering program.
- At least 7 years of mechanical engineering experience within a consulting or design‑build firm.
- Professional Licensed Mechanical Engineer.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to develop approaches to projects independently and perform detailed execution of mechanical design.
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills with other engineers, clients, and code authorities.
- Project management skills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Strong personal ambition and work ethic.
- Strong working knowledge of building, mechanical, plumbing, fire, energy conservation, and fuel gas codes.
- Strong working knowledge of the NFPA and other industry related standards.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and other production related software is a plus.
- Experience in the following markets: Healthcare and Labs, Corporate Commercial, Educational facilities, and federal, state, and local Government is a plus.
