Job summary

CB&I is seeking an Assoc Mechanical Engineer in the United States to learn and develop mechanical design and analysis for projects including pressure vessels, heat transfer equipment, rotating equipment, and piping engineering.

You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, perform calculations, create drawings using CAD tools, and help ensure projects stay on time and within budget while upholding CB&I’s standards and culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or in a related field from an accredited school is required.
• Engineer In Training (EIT) or working toward obtaining EIT, and then a professional engineering license is preferred.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills
• Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
• Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems
• Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar

Responsibilities

• Learn to plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products
• Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs
• Assist in generating working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstration
• Perform engineering calculations to support design work
• Assist in the creation and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors
• Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process
• Support project timelines to ensure the project stays within budget
• Maintain and promote a focus on CB&I’s products whether engineering, fabrication or construction.
