Chicago Bridge & Iron Company in Illinois is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to contribute to mechanical design and analysis for CB&I projects, including pressure vessels, heat transfer equipment, rotating equipment, and piping systems. The role involves calculations, drawings, and vendor reviews in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. A Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering is required; EIT is preferred; CAD experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD is expected.
Qualifications
0-3 years of engineering experience.
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited school is required.
EIT or working toward licensure is preferred.
Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
Learn to plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products.
Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs.
Assist in generating working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstration.
Perform engineering calculations to support design work.
Assist in the creation and review of technical drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and vendors/contractors.
Maintain and promote CB&I’s products and design practices.
