Job summary

S.W.COLE Engineering, Inc. is hiring an Entry Level Materials Testing Technician for our Gray, Maine office. Train on the job and be paid while you learn, testing materials on construction projects across southern and western Maine.

You'll work Monday through Friday with possible overtime, some early mornings and weekends. Field tests cover concrete, soil, aggregate, asphalt, grout, mortar and steel, with work often in the lab or on-site as you gain certifications.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills required.
• Ability to write or type observations and test results.
• Willingness to learn and be trained on the job.

Responsibilities

• Perform field tests on construction materials (concrete, soil, aggregate, asphalt, grout, mortar, steel).
• Travel to job sites and work in the field and laboratory when needed.
• Record observations and test results using computer or tablet.
• Learn to read and understand design plans and specifications.
• Be aware of safety requirements and safety equipment.
