Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering (BLE) is seeking a Staff Associate in Construction Materials Testing to join our growing team in the Fletcher, NC area. This entry-level role focuses on collecting samples and performing standardized tests while documenting results and assisting with project quality control.

You will gain hands-on experience in construction and geotechnical engineering, work outdoors, and travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; related coursework a plus.
• 0–2 years in construction, materials testing, or related field.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field testing of construction materials to verify compliance with project specifications.
• Collect samples of concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates for laboratory testing.
• Perform basic laboratory tests under supervision of senior staff.
• Accurately document field activities, test results, and observations.
• Operate and maintain testing equipment in accordance with company standards.
• Follow safety protocols and report any safety concerns immediately.
• Communicate professionally with contractors, site personnel, and team members.
• Support senior technicians and engineers with data entry and report preparation.
• Travel to project sites using company-provided transportation.
