Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Apprentice to assist skilled trade workers with installations, repairs, and routine maintenance across campus. Under direct supervision, you’ll learn building construction, equipment maintenance and safety procedures, with initial training on a daytime schedule before transitioning to the evening shift listed (3:30pm–12:00am).

• Possesses mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn building construction, equipment maintenance and repair.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Self-motivated and directed; ability to absorb new ideas quickly.

Responsibilities

• Assists skilled trade workers with routine installations, repairs, construction and replacement of equipment.
• Assists trade personnel in maintenance and repairs specific to the craft area.
• Cleans and paints equipment and structures as directed.
• Performs area housekeeping.
• Trains for higher level positions while performing semi-skilled duties.
