Chemring Energetic Devices in Downers Grove, IL, is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician to support the safe operation of production equipment and facility systems. You will gain hands-on training in mechanical, electrical, and preventive maintenance under supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year in a manufacturing environment, and eligibility to work in the U.S. ITAR and ATF explosives eligibility are required. Competitive benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school training preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Lawful U.S. person and eligible to possess explosives per ATF for all employees.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced technician with installing and maintaining production machines, and the company’s plant and equipment.
• Perform basic maintenance, troubleshoot and repair production equipment during service.
• Read work orders and manuals to perform required maintenance and service.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Assist with emergency/unscheduled repairs and routine preventive maintenance.
• Escort external visitors and vendors per security protocols.
