Job summary

JBT Marel Corporation in Sabetha, KS seeks an Operator, Machinist to join an area team responsible for efficient production of quality parts. You will set up, edit and operate lathes and mills and follow production schedules.

This entry-level role requires good communication, teamwork and problem solving. Prior apprenticeship or technical training and basic computer skills are preferred; forklift certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Completion of Apprenticeship program or Technical school preferred.
• One year of work experience within manufacturing or a technical discipline.
• Demonstrated competency in computer and PC software including MS Office and email.
• Knowledge of inventory control principles.

Responsibilities

• Set up, edit and operate lathes and mills.
• Versed in Rotary or Indexing capability for Vertical/Horizontal Machining Centers.
• Operates equipment safely with proper feed and speed.
• Troubleshoot to root cause level and take corrective actions.
• Perform preventive maintenance with Maintenance.
• Check parts to ensure they meet specifications per print.
• Review production schedules, work instructions and inventories.
• Operate a certified lift truck.
• Follow Safety Policy including Safety Glasses and Steel Toed Shoes.
