Job summary

Boyd Thermal by Eaton in Lancaster, PA is seeking an Associate Technician to assist engineers in hands-on fabrication and testing of hardware for aerospace and defense applications. A mentor will guide you toward independent work as you develop precision and craftsmanship in the lab.

The role emphasizes reading technical instructions, basic math, machining, soldering, brazing, welding, leak testing, and setting up tests using standard lab equipment.

Qualifications

• Read and understand detailed work instructions and basic math skills.
• Demonstrate ability to machine or modify simple components from aluminum, copper, or steel using a milling machine or lathe.
• Solder components using a torch, hot plate or oven with flux and solder.
• Braze components using a torch or furnace.
• Occasionally weld components and understand welding processes and weld design.
• Leak check hardware using a helium mass spectrometer.
• Perform minor electrical work to setup tests.
• Read and interpret drawings per GD&T standards (ANSI/ASME).
• Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions.

Responsibilities
