Job summary

ZEISS is seeking an entry-level Lab Tech I to join our lens production team in Minnesota. Under close supervision, you will perform routine production duties across surfacing, coating, and assembly, following written instructions and established practices.

You will handle inventory, quality checks, documentation, and may train peers. A strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• 0-2 years related experience.
• Reliable, honest, dependable and able to follow written or verbal directions.
• Customer service mindset.
• Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Able to perform repetitive movements with upper and lower extremities.
• Regularly lift 10 pounds.
• Sustain lengthy periods of visual concentration and good hand/eye/foot coordination.

Responsibilities

• Inventory: Stocking, Auditing, Picking.
• Surfacing: Taping, Blocking, Ink Marking, Alloy Management, Generating, Engraving, De-blocking, Backside Coating, Wash-Up, Sorting, Routing, Tools, Fining, Polishing.
• Coating: Scribing, Washline, Stripping, Sorting, Sandblasting.
• Computer use.
• Performs routine production duties with focus on quality, quantity and efficiency.
• Qualifies and inspects product to ensure compliance with CZV specifications and standards.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment and proper documentation.
• May train peers and be cross-trained on new tasks.
• Participate in meetings to enhance departmental communication and efficiency.
