Job summary

ZEISS is seeking a Lab Technician I to perform routine production duties in lens manufacturing under close supervision. You will handle inventory, surfacing, and coating tasks, while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• 0-2 years related experience.
• Reliable, honest, dependable and able to follow directions (written or verbal).
• Customer Service Mindset.
• Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Able to perform repetitive movements with upper and lower extremities.
• Must be able to regularly lift 10 pounds.
• Must be able to exert up to 20 PSI with hands.
• Ability to sustain lengthy visual concentration and good hand/eye/foot coordination.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task production environment; focus for long periods.
• Eye for detail and symmetry; solid dexterity and mechanical skills.
• Patience to see tasks through; clear, concise communication.
• General office/computer experience.

Responsibilities

• Inventory: Stocking, Auditing, Picking.
• Surfacing: Taping, Blocking, Ink Marking, Alloy Management, Generating, Engraving, De-blocking, Backside Coating, Wash-Up, Sorting, Routing, Tools, Fining, Polishing.
• Coating: Scribing, Washline, Stripping, Sorting, Sandblasting.
• Computer use.
• Performs routine production duties with quality and efficiency.
• Qualifies and inspects product to CZV standards.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
• Document work via written records or computer systems.
• May work across departments or cross-train on new tasks.
• Participate in meetings to improve communication and efficiency.
• May train peers.
