Job summary

PPG in Cleveland, Ohio is hiring an entry level Lab Technician onsite. You will perform routine laboratory operations in a quality assurance setting, including taking measurements and conducting quantitative and qualitative chemical tests according to standard procedures.

This is a second shift role with two possible schedules (2PM-10PM or 3PM-11PM) and full training will be provided. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; no prior experience is needed, though some science background

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent education.
No prior experience needed; training provided.
Candidates with some science background / some college preferred.
Required to stand for most of the shift.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of routine laboratory operations in a quality assurance setting.
Duties consist of making measurements.
Performing several routine quantitative and qualitative chemical analytical tests according to standard procedures.
Assists higher level technicians in setup of laboratory equipment and in recording data for experiments and procedures.
Requires knowledge in using various instruments to prepare for and perform tests (training provided).
Performs routine and safety program checks and preventive maintenance on instruments.
