Job summary

PPG is seeking a Lab Technician for the Optical Monomer Laboratory in Barberton, OH, supporting a 24/7 production facility. You will run samples on GC, HPLC and IC, perform wet tests, and report results under the Lab Supervisor.

The role requires handling up to 50 lb, troubleshooting instruments, and maintaining test accuracy across shift work, Sundays included. This 2nd shift (1:00pm-9:00pm, Sunday-Thursday) position emphasizes hands-on lab work, safety, and collaboration with production teams;

Qualifications

• Experience with GC, HPLC and IC chromatography instrumentation.
• Ability to run samples independently and report results.
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 production environment and handle lab safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform samples and report results to support production.
• Troubleshoot equipment and change gas cylinders as needed.
• Set up and operate routine laboratory procedures to test in-process and finished products.
• Perform routine chemical analyses, record results and communicate findings to production.
• Maintain and safety-check laboratory equipment and setups.
