Job summary

City of Mableton seeks a junior Help Desk Support Technician to provide first-level technical assistance to city staff and departments. You will address hardware, software, and network issues, delivering timely, professional service in line with city policies.

As the first contact for end users, you’ll log and track tickets, assist with Google Workspace accounts, and escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Requirements include a high school diploma and 1 year of experience in technical support or help desk.
• Strong customer service and communication skills required.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and basic networking.
• Log, track, and update help desk tickets using the city’s ticketing system.
• Assist in installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior IT staff or vendors as needed.
• Support setup of user accounts, email, and permissions in Google Workspace.
• Maintain documentation for systems, procedures, and support processes.
• Provide on-site support at city offices and facilities as needed.
• Assist with IT equipment inventory management.
• Ensure adherence to IT security policies and data protection protocols.
• Assist in managing Meraki network system: monitoring connectivity and troubleshooting.
• Provide support for Verkada security system: user management, access control, and camera monitoring.
