Job summary

General Dynamics - Bath Iron Works in Bath, ME seeks a Desktop Technician I to provide hands-on end-user computing support across laptops, desktops, tablets, and mobile devices. You will deploy, image, configure, and repair equipment following BIW standards and documented procedures.

You will maintain knowledge base articles, support on-call coverage, and collaborate with IT teams to meet milestones while ensuring safety and quality in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2 years of hands-on IT support experience with laptops, desktops, or mobile devices.
• Strong written communication and ability to create knowledge articles.
• Willingness to satisfy BIW background-check and site-access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set up, image, and configure laptops, desktops, and mobile devices per BIW standards.
• Enroll and support mobile devices via MDM, including app deployment.
• Provide routine break/fix support and participate in device refreshes and OS rollouts.
• Document work and user data in the IT service management platform.
• Communicate clearly with end users across all levels of the organization.
