Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Mechanic I to perform basic mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance in a fast-paced ice cream production environment. You will support equipment reliability, food safety, and continuous operation of processing, mixing, freezing, packaging, and warehousing systems.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and proactive preventive maintenance, with training on refrigeration systems, ammonia controls, and PSM/RMP compliance.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role with basic mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance.
• Understanding of refrigeration systems and ammonia safety.
• Ability to read and follow basic and advanced drawings and schematics.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and safety procedures.

Responsabilités

• Repair and preventive maintenance of Refrigeration systems, HVAC, inspection of equipment, and daily rounds.
• Understand 2-stage refrigeration design concepts (down flow and traditional).
• Routine and breakdown maintenance of boilers, air compressors, condensers, and wastewater treatment.
• Read and follow basic and advanced drawings and schematics.
• Provide informal and formal training for other Utility team members.
• Ensure PMs are completed and maintain ammonia system integrity per guidance.
• Be involved in PSM/RMP programs and daily shift record keeping.
