Job summary

City of New Orleans is seeking an entry-level inspector to perform inspectional and cost estimation work related to housing rehabilitation and related duties as required.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and relevant experience in residential building renovations or construction inspection, and must meet the education and experience criteria and complete any required tests and background checks.

Qualifications

• High School Graduation or GED required.
• Two (2) years of full-time journeyman level experience in residential building renovations or construction inspection in one or more trades or in planning and estimating.
• Two years (60 semester hours) of university or trade school training in architecture, residential structural engineering, mechanical engineering, construction project management, or a construction technology curriculum, plus a minimum of four (4) years of practical experience.
• Any combination of trade school and/or university studies in a construction curriculum or hands-on experience totaling six (6) years.
