Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Histotechnician 1 to prepare specimens for microscopic evaluation and diagnosis. You will perform technical procedures to create slide preparations, operate lab instruments, and document results with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include QC/QA, instrument maintenance, inventory management, and effective communication with lab staff and external customers as part of a team-focused clinical laboratory.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for microscopic evaluation.
• Create microscopic slide preparations.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, records and documentation with minimal supervision.
• Perform technical procedures to support diagnostic evaluation.
• Follow quality control, quality assurance, safety and infection control procedures.
• Maintain inventory of supplies.
• Collaborate with laboratory personnel and other disciplines.
