Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an entry-level Histotechnician I to prepare and process specimens for microscopic evaluation in a clinical laboratory setting.

You will operate instruments, maintain records, and support QA/QC activities under supervision, contributing to accurate diagnoses and patient outcomes. A health system environment emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year of experience.
• Ability to follow safety and infection control procedures.
• Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance practices.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Histotechnician 1 prepares specimens for microscopic evaluation and diagnosis. They perform technical procedures to create microscopic slide preparations. Operates and maintains laboratory instruments, records, and documentation with minimal supervision.

• Participate in laboratory projects and educational activities.
• Demonstrates and educates laboratory practices and technical skills to others.
