Job summary

Urban Health Plan in the Bronx is seeking an entry-level Health Information Management Associate to help protect and manage patient information within the EHR. The role focuses on ensuring access is granted to authorized individuals and maintaining data integrity in daily operations.

This full-time onsite position requires a high school diploma, 0–1 years in clerical/administrative work (healthcare preferred), and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 0–1 years of clerical/administrative experience, ideally in healthcare.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to provide exceptional patient experience.
• Understanding of medical terminology, computer skills, and multitasking.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• HIM Patients services (print and deliver information, assist with authorization completion)
• Fax, mail, and email requested medical records
• Maintain computerized record management system to store and process data for medical and onsite Auditors' requests.
• Scan information into Electronic Health Record (EHR) as per established standards.
• Review and process all requests for medical information to ensure HIPAA and New York State laws compliance.
