Job summary

Dewberry is seeking an Entry Level Highway Engineer to join our Highway Engineering Department in Mount Laurel, NJ. The position involves design and preparation of contract documents for roadway improvement projects for clients including NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority, and counties.

The candidate should have a BS in Civil Engineering, 0–2 years of experience, and an EIT/FE is preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, MS Office, and strong communication skills are valued.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required or equivalent.
• EIT/FE preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience; internship or summer work experience preferred.
• Familiarity with NJDOT and NJTA design standards and practices.
• Familiarity with AASHTO and MUTCD.
• Proficiency in MS Office software, AutoCAD and/or Microstation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and preparation of contract documents for roadway improvement projects for NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority, counties, and other clients.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project plans and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with AASHTO and MUTCD standards and practices.
• Contribute to project coordination and delivery using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
