Job summary

Pike Engineering seeks an entry-level GIS Technician to support engineering and construction drawings of electrical assets. You will create cartographic displays, work with ESRI ArcGIS, AutoCAD and MicroStation, and assist in web-based mapping tools.

The role emphasizes QA/QC, collaboration with Designers and Engineers, and adherence to client standards. Applicants should have a basic GIS background, familiarity with ArcGIS Online, and strong attention to deadlines.

Qualifications

Basic level knowledge of GIS programs, spatial and cartographic understanding.
Entry level technical support position collaborating with Designers, Engineers and GIS management.
Experience with ESRI ArcMap/ArcGIS, AutoCAD or Microstation expected.

Responsibilities

Prepare drawings using ESRI ArcMap/ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Microstation or similar packages.
Assist in creating web-based mapping tools (ArcGIS Online), webapps and dashboards.
Maintain graphical features in client GIS systems such as ArcFM, Intergraph FRAMME, Small World or G-Tech.
Develop knowledge of client construction standards and utility information systems.
Develop and maintain drawing standards (fonts, line weights, borders, naming conventions).
Create documentation and reports with MS Word, MS Excel, Access, Fulcrum, Nitro Pro and Adobe Acrobat.
Assist with field data collection tools and GPS post-processing.
Support mapping and GIS applications by reporting and posting work data.
