Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required; Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering considered a plus.
• EI certification preferred; willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Experience with geotechnical explorations and reports is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical explorations, site characterizations, and risk evaluation on developments.
• Work independently on broad projects with oversight by the Dept. Manager.
• Provide direction on project basis—preparing lab testing assignments, reviewing documents, and testing results for content and accuracy.
• Interact with clients on technical aspects of projects.
• Review soils laboratory test results.
• Assist in planning and execution of subsurface investigation programs—understanding project design plans, locating test borings, coordinating underground utility clearance.
• Design development and analysis of earth embankments, earth retaining structures and anchoring systems.
• Perform analysis and design of shallow and deep foundations and slope stability evaluations.
• Monitor and enforce quality control standards and specifications.
