Job summary

Westwood Professional Services is seeking a Geotechnical Staff Field Engineer to join our team in Raleigh, NC. The role involves participating in geotechnical site investigations, overseeing laboratory testing, and preparing investigation reports to support design analyses.

The successful candidate will interpret geotechnical data, assist with seepage, slope stability, bearing capacity and settlement studies, and contribute to proposals and design reports. Willingness to travel is required.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's in civil/geotechnical engineering.
• Experience in geotechnical investigations and testing.
• Ability to travel and work outdoors in various terrains.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to communicate in English (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Participate in geotechnical site investigations and prepare investigation reports.
• Interpret data and perform analyses including slope stability, bearing capacity, and settlement.
• Coordinate with management and report progress.
• Contribute to proposals, bid documents, and capital cost estimates.
